Why the Artwork Is Printed and the Wording Is Stitched

This hat uses two decoration methods, and that isn't a compromise — it's the right call for each element.

Embroidery is more durable, full stop. Thread is stitched into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it, so there is no ink layer to break down. What printing buys you is detail. Screen printing holds strokes down to roughly 0.2 inches, where embroidery needs about half an inch and an inch of text height to read cleanly.

A cart nose-down in a pond is a detailed illustration. Stitched, it would lose the detail that makes it funny. Printed, it keeps every line — and on a hat you wear rather than launder weekly, a properly cured print outlasts the joke's welcome by a wide margin.

Black Crown, Neon Under-Brim

The neon orange under-brim is the opposite decision, made on purpose. Worth being straight about the trade: dark under-brims exist for a reason, since matte dark surfaces absorb reflected light rather than bouncing it up into your eyes. A high-visibility neon under-brim doesn't do that. It's a design choice, and on a bright dry day a solid dark under-brim is easier on the eyes.

The vents are laser-drilled through the crown rather than being a mesh back panel, which keeps the black continuous instead of stopping it at a seam, and doesn't collect dust the way open mesh does. The velcro strap adjusts continuously rather than in the seven or eight fixed steps a plastic snapback gives you.
